Invitation to Dream

Invitation to Dream

There are still a lot of details we’re working out, but we’d love to hear some of your ideas too! To help get those creative dreaming juices flowing, here is a list of things we are looking into having this year.

Thoughts on Count This Penny’s ‘Birds’

I’m joyous to know that Count This Penny will perform  at Ocoochapalooza 2015.  I know I’m not the only one.  What drew me first to Count This Penny was how much Amanda and Allen Rigell’s harmonies remind me of Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris. ...

You got questions, we’ve got answers…

Ocoochapalooza is a block party designed to draw awareness to downtown Richland Center. This sometimes neglected section of the wonderful Driftless Area features interesting architecture, neat stores & restaurants, lots of intriguing arts and artists, and more characters than a Steinbeck novel. Food, games & activities, business promotions, a children’s parade, Farmer’s Market, and a full day/night of live music!

ocoochteam2014Neighborhood Housing Services of Southwest Wisconsin (then NHS of Richland County) sent a team of 8 resident leaders to the Community Leadership Institute in Sacramento in October 2013.  The CLI is a national conference organized by NeighborWorks America to encourage resident engagement and give people the tools to create better communities themselves. They received a grant to help with community building and decided to use those funds to create and organize Ocoochapalooza! We are proud to announce that the 2014 CLI group is using their funds and time to help Ocoochapalooza 2015 grow!

Admission is FREE for the day. The only event that is charged is the Headline show on June 6th at 6pm at the Richland Center Performing Arts Center, 182 N Central Ave, Richland Center, WI 53581. Tickets for the show will be $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Stay tuned for ticket vendors and their location. Remember, there will be FREE music all throughout the day too!

There are municipal parking lots in and near downtown.  Stay tuned for our announcement and coordination of where public parking with be accessible.

You can use the contact form on the website to get ahold of us or email Robert Johnson at robert@nhsrcwi.org, Amber Burch at amber@nhsrcwi.org, or Brett Iverson at Brett.D.Iverson@gmail.com. You can also call Bob and Amber at (608) 647-4949 if you are interested in sponsoring or volunteering for Ocoochapaloza.

We can’t control this, of course. But check here closer to the event for forecast info.  We will provide further info if anything needs to be rescheduled or moved indoors due to weather that day.

Do not bring alcohol, drugs, or weapons.  Try not to bring a bad mood.  Bring yourself, family,  & friends!

Check out some of the artists that will be playing at Ocoochapalooza 2015!
